Guillotine Cross is one of the best MVP hunters and instance clearers in the game. The sheer amount of damage that the class can deal is insurmountable, even MVPs with green aura crumble!

The auto-attack build assassin has been popular since the early days of Ragnarok but you have to choose between Critical or Double Attack. Fast forward to renewal, the GX auto-attack build regained its glory due to an update that allows Double Attack(DA) to co-exist with critical hits. Gone are the days where you have to create a job 42 High Thief just to skip Double Attack entirely to create a successful Double Dagger(DD) Crit GX.

Table of Contents

Reminder: Before you even consider the transition to DD Crit GX, make sure to get enough levels, at least lvl 165. The amount of consumables you have to use to maintain the build is ridiculous so please make sure that your stats will not limit your characters potential. If you are still lacking in levels, just play as an RC GX for a while. If you cannot sustain 193 ASPD and 100+ CRIT, then think twice if you still want to pursue this build.

Stats Distribution

The above image is an example of the stat distribution to activate the bonus effects of a +9 Bravery Bag[1] which allows the build to be functional as early as level 165.

Hybrid Build

Advantages:

  • Allows the user to transition and maximize the use of Rolling Cutter.
  • Allows the user to transition and maximize the use of Soul Destroyer.
  • High ATK multiplier from STR.
  • High weight limit due to STR.
  • Allows the use of Temporal Boots of STR.

Disadvantages:

  • Requires a lot of equips and consumables to reach 193 ASPD.
  • Requires a lot of equips and consumables to reach 110+ Critical Rate.

Pure Double Dagger Critical Build

Advantages:

  • Can easily reach 100+ Critical Rate.
  • Can easily reach 193 ASPD.
  • Allows the user to maximize Critical Damage% equips.

  • Allows the use of Temporal Boots of LUK.

Disadvantages:

  • Lacks HIT to fluidly transition to Rolling Cutter.
  • Lacks DEX to fluidly transition to Soul Destroyer.
  • Will have difficulties in maximizing the skill Steal.

Skill Build

Important skills to get:

Level 10 Steal – very important skill in farming materials from instances.

Level 10 Double Attack – the reason why you are running this build.

Level 10 Soul Breaker – allows you to deal solid long range damage in case you are working with a party.

Level 10 Sonic Blow – required to unlock Rolling Cutter.

Level 5 Enchant Deadly Poison – damage steroids

Level 5 Rolling Cutter – your best leveling and farming tool.

Level 5 Dark Claw – boosts your DPS every 30 seconds. Allows you to burst down MVPs.

Level 5 Hallucination Walk – allows you to tank even the hardest hitting boss.

Level 5 Venom Impress – increases your DPS vs neutral monsters.

As a job 70 Assassin Cross, you won’t be able to max out Meteor Assault. Wait until you reach job level 60 as a GX, then allocate the remaining skill point to Meteor Assault. Maxing Meteor Assault can improve your DPS since Sapha’s Cloth autocasts Meteor Assault when attacking.

Consumables

This section is necessary due to the amount of consumables (both offensive and defensive) that you have to prepare if you want to maximize this build. The consumables will be listed in terms of necessity.

Hello! The guide is still somewhat applicable to early and mid-game. The author took a hiatus due to IRL stuff, but he’s back now, so we might be able to see some update in the future.
