Introduction

Faceworm Nest is a daily instance that requires level 140 to enter. Among the instances accessible for level 140 characters, this instance is among the hardest in the server. Only a few characters can solo this instance that’s why it is recommended to run it with party mates.

Notes:

  • Switching between elemental armors is a must in this instance including the use of unfrozen/deadly armor.
  • Multiple elemental converters are necessary.
  • Poison/Undead property armor can reduce the damage taken from faceworms significantly. Will also allow the players to walkthrough poison mist with little concern.
  • If running with a party, it is recommended to bring more DPS characters to complete the instance quickly.
  • The instance can be run in Hard mode to summon hundreds of Faceworms for leveling purposes as each Faceworm gives great amount of exp. If you decide to run it in this manner, there’s no need to complete the instance. Just run until you finish stage 4.

Instance Proper

Go to the dimensional crack, /navi dali 80/60, then talk to Magic Scholar to create the instance.

Upon entry, talk to Chaos to start the instance. From there, you’ll be given the option whether to run the instance in Easy or Hard mode.

  • Easy mode : 40+ Faceworms will be summoned in each stage. Must eliminate 30 of them to summon Dark Faceworm (50% hp in easy). Also, Faceworm Queen will have its HP at 28m + 2m per party member.
  • Hard mode: 140+ Faceworms will be summoned in each stage. Must eliminate 140 of them to summon Dark Faceworm (100% hp in hard). Also, Faceworm Queen will have 50m HP regardless of the number of party members.

Upon killing each Dark Faceworm and Faceworm Queen, a treasure box will appear that contains Giant God Snake Skin. The faster the completion of each stage, the better the enchants of the Giant God Snake Skin.

Notable Drops:

Stage 1

After talking to Chaos, kill the necessary number of faceworms as announced at the top center of your screen. Dark Faceworm will be summoned when 2 or less Faceworms remain. Kill Dark Faceworm to proceed to the next stage.

Stage 2

Talk to Chaos then wait for the Faceworms to be summoned. Do the same thing as stage 1. This time, Dark Faceworm can summon invisible units that spams waterball. The damage is not threatening but still can deal significant damage to players without water armor or shield.

Stage 3

Talk to Chaos then walk carefully until you see some Faceworms. Exploding eggs are summoned as you walk so make sure to avoid them. Their individual damage may not be lethal but multiple of them can even kill high HP characters. If you are running this solo, you may avoid summoning the eggs by using any invisibility skills like Cloaking Exceed and Camouflage. Eliminate the Faceworms again then kill Dark Faceworm. Just remember that this version of Dark Faceworm summons exploding eggs. Upon summoning, Dark Faceworm will be healed by a decent amount so make sure to continuously deal damage against Dark Faceworm while avoiding or killing the exploding eggs.

Stage 4

Chaos will not be in this stage so continue eliminating Faceworms to summon Dark Faceworm. Be careful in this stage as poison mist is constantly summoned and can be fatal to those who are not wearing Poison/Undead armor. If you are running solo, an Evil Druid carded armor is good enough but if you are playing with party mates, an Argiope carded armor is a good choice to allow your AB’s heals and some buffs to be applied to you. Dark Faceworm also summons poison mists so practice the same caution as you kill it.

Stage 5: Boss Stage

This will be the last stage and your encounter with the final boss.

Faceworm Queen has 5 different forms namely:

POISON = PURPLE – Earthquake (5×5 cellls)

EARTH = GREEN – Heaven’s Drive

WIND = YELLOW – Jupitel Thunder/Lord of Vermillion

WATER = BLUE – Storm Gust/Frost Diver/Wide Freeze

FIRE = RED – Earthquake (Screenwide)/Hell’s Judgment/Pulse Strike

You may have a designated tank, an egg killer (with high aspd), and long range DPS to easily kill the boss. Just be careful with the Red/Fury form as it can wipe your party if the tank is not properly equipped. As much as possible, stay away from the AOE skills casted as any of those skills can 1 shot players without the necessary reduction gears.

The original form of the Queen is poison property so make sure to prepare an Aspersio scroll to endow your weapon with holy property. The Queen changes her element from time to time so make sure to prepare the necessary elemental converters/ammunitions to counter her element. Switching between elemental armors is also ideal to deal with the mentioned skills above.

Aside from the listed skills, the Queen can use any of the skills used by the Dark Faceworms from previous stages such as Water Ball, Exploding Eggs, Poison Mist, and Healing Eggs.

Solo Run/Tanking

For players who want to run this solo with GX or wants to function as the tank, consider the following information if applicable:

  • Just spam rolling cutter as fast as possible. You may use aspersio at the start since the original form is poison as it will increase your damage damage by 25%. From time to time, she’ll cast earthquake. You have the choice to move away from the earthquake or try to tank it since the damage instance is divided by three, so you still have a window to pots through it.
  • Switch the element of your armor based on the current color/element of the boss. Do not forget to change the element of your weapon as well.
  • If the boss switches to wind property, be mindful of her Jupitel as it might push you out of range and will cause the queen to reset back to full hp. Make sure to stay close to her spawn site and do not purposefully drag her to the edges of the map. Switch to +9 chick hat then start normal attacking her. You may use abrasive potion to improve your critical rate since you’ll be having a hard time dealing with her 700+ flee. Your dokebi armor and earth converter should be utilized in this form.
  • If the boss switches to earth property, switch to harden breastplate then use your fire converter. Stick with your rideword hat then keep on spamming rolling cutter. Her earth form has the highest defense so don’t be surprised if your RC hardly deals 20k damage for each spin. She usually combos this form with waterball.
  • If the boss switches t to water property, switch to Unfrozen Breastplate then use your wind converter. This is her most annoying form outside of her rage form. Her Storm Gust deals ridiculous damage despite using water armor + marc card + water resist potion. You should walk away from her SG then hit her when it’s gone. You may also consider using hallucination walk in this form to deal decent damage.
  • If the boss switches to her fire mode, just stay away from her and hope that she reverts to her original form before she walks out of range. I have no solution right now for this form but based on probability, you’ll hardly encounter this.
  • Poison Mist heals the queen as well as the eggs. If the queen summons 4 eggs and you fail to kill any of them, she’ll be healed for 2m hp. If there are 3 remaining eggs, she’ll be healed for 1m hp. If there are 2 eggs remaining, she’ll be healed for 200k, then 100k for 1 egg. It will be hard to eliminate 4 eggs while they are inside the mist. Make sure to wear your chick hat and eliminate at most 2 eggs. Try your best to move away from the poison mist while fighting the boss. It will be troublesome to take the damage from the mist while the queen spams waterball and earthquake or any other skills from her current form.
