Introduction

Morse Cave Instance is the sequel to the Bios Island Instance, which is a part of the three-part quest in Episode 14.3, culminating with the Temple of Demon God Instance.

This instance is set in an a cave complex where Satan Morroc is alleged to lie and here your party will battle against Morroc minions that Reaper Ankou will summon in several waves.

The instance has five phases and will end with a boss battle against Morroc Necromancer who will switch from his astral form into his true form in the final leg of the Instance.

Requirements

Tips

  • It is best to do this Instance with a party. It is difficult to solo (but doable with enough DPS).
    • In your party, it is best to have as minimal support classes as possible. In Phase 3 of the instance, the party will be separated in two teams and there has to be at least a ranged DPS character in each of these teams to finish the instance.
  • This instance has several waves of monsters. Area of Effect (AOE) skills will be very helpful.
  • All the monsters in the instance are Boss Protocol. Weapons and armor that increase damage and resist against Boss mobs will be handy (Alice card, Lord of Death, Shield of Death).
  • Most of the monsters in the instance, save for the final boss, are Neutral. Weapons and armor that increase damage and resist against Neutral mobs will be handy (Immune Shield, Tatacho card).
  • The final boss is Demi-Human. Weapons and armor that increase damage and resist against Demi-Human mobs will be handy (Thara frog card [if without Alice card], Hydra Card).
  • The final boss is Earth. Be ready to switch to fire ammunition or pop fire converters when battling the final boss.

Instance Proper

  • Warp to Dimensional Gap using the Dimensional Teleporter in Eden first floor (moc_para01 37,81).
  • In the Dimensional Gap make the first turn to the left and talk to the Sand Mound (moro_vol 136, 136) to go to Flame Basin.
  • In the Flame Basin, talk to Tamarin near the center of the map (moro_vol 198, 179) to enter Morse Cave.
  • Talk to Senior Tracker (moro_cav 61, 69) to start the Morse Cave instance.
  • After waiting for the instance queue, talk to the Red Flower (moro_cav 57, 65) to enter the Morse Cave Instance.

Phase 1

  • You will be summoned in long alleyway/room.
  • 9 Morroc’s Ghouls will appear in waves. They do not pose any threats. Kill them.
  • Reaper Ankou will appear and talk after.
  • Mob involved:

Phase 2

  • You will be transported in a room with an altar-looking structure in the center.
  • A Weakened/Wounded Satan Morroc will appear. He is weak and not much of a threat. Kill him.

Phase 3

  • For this phase, your party will be divided into two rooms where each party member is rooted/ice-walled.
    • Jumping/snapping skills can override the root (e.g., Snap, Backslide, Front Slide, Warg Strike).
  • In each room, waves of Morroc’s minions will appear. Each team must kill a certain number of waves in their respective rooms to proceed to the next phase. Otherwise, the instance will fail.
    • As elaborated in the Tips Section, make sure to have at least one ranged DPS in each room.
    • The mobs are weak and pose no threat.
  • A party-member’s soul will be in the middle of the map. While targettable, there is no need to hit/attack this soul.

Phase 4

  • For this phase, the whole party will be rejoined in one room similar to the previous phase where all party members are rooted/ice-walled.
    • Again, jumping/snapping skills can override the root (e.g., Backslide, Front Slide, Warg Strike).
  • Waves of Morroc’s minions will appear again. The party must kill a certain number of waves to proceed to the next phase. Otherwise, the instance will fail.
    • Similar to the previous room, the mobs are weak and pose no threat.
  • A party-member’s soul will be in the middle of the map. While targettable, there is no need to hit/attack this soul.

Phase 5

  • This Phase is in two parts as the boss will shift phases.
  • You will be teleported in a room with an altar-like structure in the center. The boss will spawn in the middle of the altar-like structure.
  • First, the party will have to fight Morroc Necromancer in his Astral Form.
    • He is fairly weak in this form. He will cast weak wizard skills but no threatening damage.

  • Second, once his Astral Form is dead, Morroc Necromancer will reappear in his true form.
    • While the skills that Morroc Necromancer casts are not much of a threat (Jack Frost and Meteor Storm), during this part of Phase 5, waves of mobs will appear around the boss every 20 seconds and they might be a threat to the party if not killed as soon as possible.
      • Of special mention are Morroc’s Wraiths which has the ability to Self-Destruct. Prioritize killing these Wraiths or disable them from going near the party stack. You may also utilize safety wall to guard from the melee damage of Self-Destruction.
    • The Final Boss is Fire Element and Demi-Human. Make sure to gear and use the correct element accordingly. Please read the Tips Section for more information.
  • After killing the Morroc Necromancer, he will drop two Prizes of Hero
  • Talk to the teleportation device to exit the room and speak with Senior Tracker (moro_cav 61, 69) in Morse Cave to officially end the instance. You will receive a Token of Hero.
    • Note: It is essential to talk with Senior Tracker after the instance to reset its cooldown.
