I. Introduction

The Homunculus is a companion exclusive to the Alchemist tree. It acts as a secondary unit (similar to Mercenaries and Pets) which gains EXP, levels and stat growth much like a normal character. Depending on the form chosen, Homunculi have access to a number of skills which can either deal damage to enemies or support their masters in the field of battle. This guide will cover the basics you need to know about the Alchemist’s Homunculus such as its different forms, skills, Custom AI and on-field application.

II. Bioethics Quest

Spoiler
  • Requirements
  • Level Requirement: n/a
  • Job Requirement: At least an Alchemist
  • Item Requirement: Geek Glasses and Grandpa Beard (equipped)
  • Quest Reward: Unlocks Bioethics and Homunculus Skills in Alchemist Tree

1. Make your way to the Rekenber Corporation Building over at /navi lighthalzen 101/246, and locate the Rekenber Guard at /navi lhz_in01 35/225.

Equip the Geek Glasses and Grandpa Beard (purchasable from an NPC on the 3rd floor of the Lighthalzen Convenience Store) and speak to him in order to enter the Rekenber Corp. Laboratory.

2. Once inside, locate and speak to Kellasus at /navi lhz_in01 224/140 who is inside the room via the northeast (1 o’clock) portal. Talk to him multiple times until he gets irritated with you and ends up repeating his dialogue.

3. Speak to Skrajjad over at /navi lhz_in01 225/122, and he will inform you about the Homunculus skill, “Vaporize.” Afterwards, he instructs you to find Keshibien for more information.

4. Talk to Keshibien at /navi lhz_in01 204/138, and he teaches you about the “Call Homunculus” skill and the Embryo used to summon one. After the conversation, he asks you to find Broncher over at the restaurant inside the Lighthalzen Inn.

5. Locate Broncher at /navi lhz_in02 278/273 and he talks about the Homunculus Resurrection skill.

6. Make your way back to Kellasus and tell him you have learned about Homunculus. He will then test your knowledge with three questions. The answers to these are Vaporize, Embryo and Homunculus Resurrection. After answering him correctly, he still doubts your principles and does not proceed to teach you the skill.

7. Leave the Rekenber Corporation Building and make your way to Kellasus’ home at the north-part of Lighthalzen.

Speak to Koring at /navi lhz_in03 106/34, who talks about his dad Kellasus and worries about him.

8. Return to Kellasus and tell him about his son. He then gets a change of heart and agrees to teach you the Bioethics skill after speaking to him again multiple times.

At this point, the Bioethics branch of the Alchemist skill tree will be unlocked.

III. Basic Information

Once the Bioethics tree has been unlocked, you are ready to start creating your Homunculus. Controlling one will feel like leveling a separate character from your Alchemist, but the support it can provide especially at later levels will be worth the additional effort on raising one.

A. Summoning a Homunculus

An Embryo is required in order to summon a new Homunculus (assuming no existing one is available). These embryos are crafted via the Prepare Potion skill using a medicine Bowl, Glass Tube, Morning Dew of Yggdrasil, Seed of Life and Potion Creation Guide (all available inside the Alchemist Guild in Aldebaran).

Using the Call Homunculus skill will randomly summon one of the four base Homunculi (each having two available sprites). The new Homunculus will be your permanent summon unless it is deleted through the Homunculus Info Window or runs away due to Intimacy dropping to 0.

B. The Homunculus Info and Skill Windows

Homunculi have a separate set of stats apart from their master. The Homunculus Info Window (opened by right clicking on your Homunculus and selecting Status or hitting the default ALT+R shortcut) shows the details about these stats such as ATK, MATK, HP and SP (similar to a Mercenary Info Window, with the addition of EXP, Hunger, Intimacy and Feeding options). Base Homunculus start with a specific base stat depending on the type of Homunculus summoned, and stat growth is completely random.

Unlike in Pre-Renewal where stat growth can be detrimental to the Homunculus’ potential, one may opt not to focus much on the Homunculus’ stats since they will be maxed out later on once they gain more levels as Homunculus S (Max HP and SP will usually be the parameters one may want to keep in mind).

The Homunculus also gains one skill point for every three levels. These points can be used to increase whichever skill/s you wish your Homunculus to learn.

C. Manual Commands

Below is a list of functions one can manually input on the keyboard and/or mouse in order to control the Homunculus:

  • Alt + R: Opens the Homunculus Info Window
  • Alt + T: Toggles between Standby (also known as Idle or Passive Mode) and Active
  • Alt + Right Click on Ground: Moves Homunculus to specified location (max of 15 tiles)
  • Alt + 1x Right Click: Assigns a monster to target
  • Alt + 2x Right Click: Attacks selected monster

D. Gaining EXP and Levels

Much like leveling another character, a Homunculus can increase its level by killing monsters and gaining EXP. Homunculi owned by Alchemists and Biochemists can go up to Lv99, while those owned by Geneticists can go up to 150. It is however strongly recommended to keep one’s Homunculus at 99 until after completing the Homunculus S Quest, since it will gain less HP, SP and stats when allowed to go beyond Lv99 while still in its base form.

As of writing (17 February 2023), player kills will not give EXP to the Homunculus, but kills by the Homunculus will give a portion of Base EXP to its master. EXP gained by the Homunculus is unaffected by Battle Manuals, Premium EXP Buff, +% EXP equipment, the “Mental Sensing” (Rich Man Mr. Kim) Ensemble or Server-wide EXP Boosts.

Unlike players, Homunculus EXP is not affected by the level difference between monsters and itself. Thus, it is recommended to level your Homunculus in densely mobby maps (ex: Orc Dungeon or Magma Dungeon), areas with naturally fixed spawn points (ex: Ant Eggs or Hydras) or event maps with good amount of player traffic (seasonal depending on patch). This makes it not just to save up on HP potions to pitch onto the Homunculus, but also make monster kills and EXP gain much faster.

It is possible to gain experience even if its master is incapacitated. Whenever the player dies and the Homunculus’ HP is below 80%, it will not be Vaporized and is still able to fight monsters and gain EXP (at the cost of not being able to use the manual commands previously listed aside from opening the Homunculus Info Window). Otherwise, the Homunculus will automatically be Vaporized.

E. Intimacy and Feeding

Similar to pets, Homunculi require feeding in order to stay alive and build intimacy between itself and its master. The Hunger meter ranges between 1 to 100 and goes down by 1 per minute. It is advisable to only feed between the 11~25 Hunger Range in order to gain the highest amount of intimacy per feed.

HungerIntimacyEmotes
Starving 1~10-1/sob
1~10+0.5/ho
11~25+1
26~75+0.75
76~90-0.05/swt2
91~100-0.5/wah

When left unfed and while the Hunger Range is between 1~10, the Homunculus’ Intimacy will decrease by 1 point (an hour of starving drops Intimacy by 18 points). Alternatively, trying to feed Homunculus at 76 or above Hunger Range can lead to overfeeding and decrease Intimacy. When the Homunculus’ Intimacy drops to 0, it will run away from its master, and you will not be able to summon the same one via Homunculus Resurrection or Call Homunculus (will summon a new one if an Embryo is present in your inventory). To avoid these inconveniences, make sure to have the “Auto Feed” box in your Homunculus Window checked and to have a sustainable amount of proper feed (especially useful when you need to AFK).

Intimacy is important in order to evolve one’s Base Homunculus into its higher form, as well as be able to use skills which require Intimacy. Below are the different values of Intimacy the Homunculus can have, along with their text status displayed in the Homunculus Info Window:

IntimacyStatus
1~3Hate with a Passion
4~10Hate
11~100Awkward
101~250Shy
251~750Neutral
751~910Cordial
911~1000Loyal

IV. Base Homunculus List

A. Vanilmirth

Vanilmirth are a type of homunculi with a jelly-like form. They are magic-oriented damage dealers that can fire offensive elemental magic at their targets. They also have the ability to aid their master through minor healing or brewing success increase. In terms of growth, they have a suitable amount of HP, SP and other stats, thus making them one of the ideal bases for Homunculus S mutations.

InfoSkillsDescription
Type: Magic DPS

Feed: Scell
CapriceRandomly casts Lv1~5 of one of the following spells: Fire Bolt, Cold Bolt, Lightning Bolt, Earth Spike
Chaotic BlessingsCasts Lv1~5 Heal on the Vanilmirth, its master or the enemy; chance of selecting a healing target dependent on skill level used
Instruction ChangeIncreasing Prepare Potion success chance by 1%~5% per skill level, and passively increases the Vanilmirth’s STR and INT by 1/1~4/5 respectively

B. Amistr

Amistr are homunculi which have a beast-like physique. Deemed as tanks due to their innately high Max HP and DEF stats, they are usually picked alongside Vanilmirth as bases for Homunculus S mutation. Leveling one may feel slower due to the lack of offensive spells, but their insane bulk and utility skills will be worth the patience to raise one in the long run.

InfoSkillsDescription
Type: Tank

Feed: Zargon
CastlingHas a 20%~100% chance to instantly swap the positions of the Amistr and its master; making some attacking monsters target the Homunculus instead; cannot be used in War of Emperium castles
Amistr BulwarkTemporarily increases both the Homunculus and its master’s VIT by 10~30; lasts for 40s~20s and has a 30s CD
Adamantium SkinIncreases the Amistr’s Max HP by 2%~10%, HP Recovery by 5%~25% and DEF by 4~20

C. Filir

Filir are homunculi which resemble birds. They are best known for being agile with their skills – either dealing Physical damage in rapid succession at targets or boosting their FLEE, ATK and ASPD when fighting opponents. Unlike Vanilmirth, their offensive skill is not element-dependent, ideally making targeting specific-element monsters less of a hassle. They tend to be more fragile compared to the first two base forms due to their low Max HP and are only chosen as Homunculus S mutation bases for either their personal buffs or their offensive spell Moonlight (making early Homunculus S leveling and acquiring new offensive skills faster).

InfoSkillsDescription
Type: Physical DPS

Feed: Garlet
MoonlightInflicts 1~3 hits of Physical damage onto opponents, dealing a total of 220%~660% ATK per cast
FlittingTemporarily increases the Filir’s ATK and ASPD by 10%~30% and 3%~15% respectively; lasts 60s~40s and has a 60s~120s CD
Accelerated FlightTemporarily increases the Filir’s FLEE by 20~60; lasts for 60s~40s and has a 60s~120s CD

D. Lif

The Lif homunculi are seen having plant-like structures throughout their body. Their purpose is to provide support capabilities to their master by providing minor healing and a boost in Movement Speed. They are however least chosen as Homunculus S mutation bases due to their inferior kit compared to the previous three (Healing Hands HP restored too low for Renewal and Geneticist’s Cart Boost will provide higher Movement Speed bonus).

InfoSkillsDescription
Type: Support

Feed: Pet Food
Healing HandsCommands the Lif to heal its owner based on her MATK; each cast consumes a Condensed Red Potion and has a 2s CD
Urgent EscapeTemporarily boosts both the Lif and her master’s Movement Speed by 10%~50% (max level similar to Lv1 Geneticist Cart Boost; boost does not stack with Increase AGI); lasts 40s~20s and has a 35s CD
Brain SurgeryPassively increases the Lif’s Max SP by 1%~5%, SP Recovery by 3%~15% and Healing Hands’ effectiveness by 2%~10%

V. Evolution and Evolution-Exclusive Skills

Once the Homunculus’ Intimacy reaches Loyal, it can undergo evolution using the Stone of Sage item (dropped by Gemini-S58 from Somatology Laboratory aka Biolabs, or by the angel mobs such as Mistress of Shelter from Thanatos Tower).

An evolved Homunculus will have a new sprite depending on its base form, as well as a random boost to its stats, and increased Max HP and SP. A new evolution-exclusive skill will also be unlocked depending on the base Homunculus.

VanilmirthSelf-DestructionCommands the Homunculus to self-destruct, inflicting Max HP x1~x3 DEF-piercing splash damage (bypasses accuracy check) within a 9×9 AoE. Intimacy drops to 1 (Hate with Passion).
AmistrBlood LustFor 60s~300s, temporarily increases the Homunculus’ ATK by 30%~50% and has a 3%~9% chance to regain 20% of damage dealt as HP when dealing damage. The Homunculus cannot cast active skills while under Blood Lust. Cooldown of 5mins~15mins.
FilirS.B.R.44Instructs the Homunculus to deal Intimacyx100~300 damage to a single target. After using the skill, Intimacy drops to 2 (Hate with Passion).
LifMental ChargeProvides 30~90 VIT and 20~60 INT boosts to the Homunculus (doesn’t affect Max HP/SP and Aid Potion’s healing value). Normal attacks deal bonus damage depending on MATK. Reduces HP and SP to 10 once the buff expires (negated when the Homunculus is Vaporized, but also canceling the effect). Lasts for 60s~300s and has a cooldown of 10mins~20mins.

VII. Homunculus S List

A. Dieter

Dieter is a golem-like Homunculus S with a humanoid residing inside a flask for its body. It has an ability to set-up AoE Ground spells to either deal damage over time or disable enemies from using skills among other debuffs. Their main buff “Pyroclastic” greatly boosts the ATK of its master, providing one of the best DPS-boosting buffs to Geneticists. Its overall kit makes it an ideal Homunculus S choice for both PvE and PvP-oriented players.

InfoSkillDescription
Type: Crowd Control, Tank, Disabler and Offensive Support

Feed: Big Cell
Volcanic Ash (Lv102)Sets the Ash debuff over a 3×3 area which lasts for 12s~20s. Monsters and enemy players affected by the ash have reduced HIT, increased damage received from Fire-Property attacks and have a 50% chance of skills to fail. Plant-type monsters have reduced DEF while Water-Property monsters have reduced ATK and FLEE
Lava Slide (Lv109)Produces a lava slide over a 3×3~7×7 area, dealing Fire-Property Physical Damage every 2 seconds over 12s~20s; each hit has a 10%~50% chance of inflicting Burning status onto enemies.
Granitic Armor (Lv116)Covers the Dieter and its master with granitic armor, reducing damage taken by 2%~10% for 60s. After the skill ends, both will receive damage based on 6%~30% of Max HP (leaving at least 1 HP)
Magma Flow (Lv122)When activated, attacks against Dieter will proc a 3%~15% chance to spew lava and inflict Neutral-Property Physical damage to enemies in a 3×3~5×5 AoE centered at Dieter; damage is affected by Pyroclastic and other effects which increases the Homunculus S’s attack. Buff lasts 30s~90s
Pyroclastic (Lv131)Buffs the Dieter and its master, endowing their attacks with Fire Property and increasing ATK by the Homunculus S’s Level +10~50 for 60s~180s. Master’s normal attacks have a chance to autocast Hammer Fall, and the equipped weapon cannot be swapped out or unequipped. When the duration ends, non-Axe and Mace weapons without Indestructible effect (ex: Golem Card) will break. If the master falls incapacitated under the effects of Pyroclastic and Chemical Protection, the weapon will still break.

B. Sera

Sera resembles a wasp with humanoid features. She provides both single target and AoE damage which both carry status-inflicting debuffs such as Blind and Paralysis. Using the skill “Pain Killer” on her master makes personal tanking much easier due to the flat damage reduction it provides. At higher levels, she is able to summon her own legion of Insect-type monsters, aiding in crowd control of multiple targets.

InfoSkillDescription
Type: Poison-Property DPS, Crowd Control and Defensive Support

Feed: Apple Pudding
Needle of Paralysis (Lv105)Stings a target with venom, dealing Neutral-Property damage and has a 45%~65% chance to inflict the Paralysis status (target cannot move and has reduced DEF/MDEF)
Poison Mist (Lv116)Spreads a poisonous mist over a 7×7 area over 12s~20s, dealing Poison-Property damage to enemies; has a 20%~60% chance to cause Blind on affected targets.
Pain Killer (Lv123)Applies a neurotoxin on a target, receiving the Endure status for up to 7 hits, decreasing its ASPD and reducing the damage it receives by a flat amount ((Skill Lv x 200) x (Homun Level / 150), up to a max of 1000)
Summon Legion (Lv132)Summons Hornets, Giant Hornets or Luciola Vespas (depending on skill level) which last for 20s~60s or until their HP drops to 0; summoned monsters will attack targets Sera, or her master is attacking, and will stop all actions when Sera has no valid targets to switch to (needs recasting)

C. Eira

Eira is a Homunculus S type with a nature fairy-like appearance, with her hair resembling wings which she uses to fly around. Her offensive abilities revolve around the Neutral and Wind-Property, giving her coverage when fighting Water and Ghost-type targets. Her “Overed Boost” buff allows her master to dodge Physical attacks and gain fast attack speed (even at 1 AGI), making it a strong boost in both survivability and offensive capabilities in either PvE or PvP.

InfoSkillDescription
Type: Wind/Neutral-Property DPS and Offensive/Defensive Support

Feed: Small Snow Flower
Eraser Cutter (Lv106)Depending on skill level used, dealings Neutral or Wind-Property magic damage on a single target.
Overed Boost (Lv114)Commands the Eira to apply a buff on herself and her master, setting both their FLEE and ASPD to 340~500 and 181~189 respectively, at the cost of reducing DEF. When the buff expires or the skill is recast, both Eira and master’s SP is decreased to half and the Homunculus S’s Hunger is set to 1.
Xeno Slasher (Lv121)Depending on skill level used, deals Neutral or Wind-Property magic damage over a 5×5~9×9 area with a chance to inflict Bleeding status on targets hit; casting time cannot be interrupted.
Light of Regeneration (Lv128)Eira enters Passive Mode and applies a resurrection buff on the player for 6mins~10mins (similar to Token of Siegfried’s self-resurrection effect; item will take priority of Light of Regeneration). Requires Loyal Intimacy between Eira and master, which drops to Cordial after casting the skill.
Silent Breeze (Lv137)Produces a silent breeze upon a single target, restoring a portion of HP based on Eira’s Level and MATK, as well as silencing the target (except for the master) for 9s~21s. Cancels out the following status effects afflicted on the target: Confusion, Deep Sleep, Hallucination, Harmonize, Howl of Mandragora, Siren’s Voice, Sleep

D. Bayeri

Bayeri’s physique resembles that of a unicorn with a mythical hide. Its Holy-Property damage allows great coverage when dealing with Shadow and Undead-Property targets. They are well known for their “Stein Wand” skill which erects Safety Walls for itself and its master (with no Blue Gemstone cost), making it a nice defensive tank-support against melee attacks.

InfoSkillDescription
Type: Holy-Property DPS and Defensive Support

Feed: Fresh Plant
Stahl Horn (Lv105)Commands the Bayeri to charge at a single target, dealing damage, knocking back and causing the Stun status at 20%~36% chance. The skill will fail when an obstacle (ex: terrain or another player) is between the Homunculus S and the target. Enchanted with Holy Property if Goldene Ferse is active.
Goldene Ferse (Lv112)Boosts Bayeri’s FLEE and ASPD for 30s~90s, and normal attacks have a 4%~12% chance of dealing Holy-Property damage. Convert’s Stahl Horn’s damage from Neutral to Holy
Stein Wand (Lv121)Bayeri produces Safety Walls for it and its master, blocking 5~9 hits over 30~90 seconds. Safety Wall durability is similar to that of Priests and Mages’
Angriffs Modus (Lv130)Applies a buff which reduces Bayeri’s DEF by 50~130 and FLEE by 60~140 to increase its ATK by 70~150, while also draining 100 HP and 20 SP per second for 30~90s. Skill will end when Bayeri dies, or SP drops to 0.
Heilage Stange (Lv138)Deals Holy-Property Magic Damage to targets over a 3×3~5×5 AoE

E. Eleanor

Eleanor is an anthropomorphic Homunculus S with feline features such as sharp claws, cat ears and fluffy tail. She excels mostly on single-target combat and, depending on her Style Change mode, is able to chain different combos to damage or disable her opponents. Her lack of AoE spells might make crowd control a challenge for her and she does not provide supportive buffs compared to the other Homunculi, but she compensates with her hard-hitting damaging skills and fast normal attacks.

InfoSkillDescription
Type: Single Target Physical DPS and Disabler

Feed: Bun
Style Change (Lv100)Toggle between Fighting and Grappling Mode. Gains a max of 10 Spirit Spheres while attacking under Fighting and while receiving attacks under Grappling. Eleanor is summoned in Fighting Mode by default.
Sonic Claw (Lv100)Usable only in Fighting Mode. Instructs Eleanor to strike with her claw at a single target, dealing 40%~200% ATK for every Spirit Sphere active (skill will fail when no Spirit Spheres are present)
Silvervein Rush (Lv114)Combo skill after Sonic Claw. Deals 150%~750% ATK at an enemy target which has a 25%~45% chance to Stun it. Consumes 1 Spirit Sphere

Tinder Break (Lv100)Usable only in Grappling Mode. Eleanor leaps towards a single target from 3~7 cells away and breaks its joints, dealing 100%~500% damage and rendering it and herself unable to move (similar to Rogue’s Close Confine) and reducing their FLEE to 0. Duration dependent on the difference between Eleanor and her target’s STR; consumes 1 Spirit Sphere
Continual Break Combo. (Lv112)Combo skill after Tinder Breaker. Deals damage and reduces the target’s SP (deal regular HP damage to monsters instead); consumes 1 Spirit Sphere
Eternal Quick Combo (Lv133)Combo skill after Continual Break Combo. Deals damage depending on the difference between Eleanor’s and her target’s HP. Inflicts the Stun status at the target, as well as losing 2%~10% additional HP and reducing Equipment ATK and DEF by 5%~25%. Releases both Eleanor and her target from Tinder Break’s immobilized status. Cannot be used on Boss monsters; consumes 2 Spirit Spheres

VIII. Custom AI Setup

Much like Mercenaries, Homunculi have the option to follow a set of commands through the custom AI feature. Setting up a custom AI (not to be mistaken with 3rd-Party Programs like Bots, Macros and SickPots) in your Ragnarok Folder can aid in controlling a Homunculus – from automatically attacking monsters, to casting buffs on itself or the master, to walking around to kite and take aggro on monsters.

Renewal servers such as RO GGH are able to use AzzyAI created by Dr. Azzy, with its v1.551 Setup providing a brief explanation of the different commands and behaviors one’s Homunculus can follow. An installation guide can be found in the Mercenary Leveling Guide written by Matthew below:

Note: Before downloading or setting up a custom AI in your Ragnarok Folder, it is highly encouraged to create a backup of your default AI Folder (compress into a ZIP and save in a separate folder) in case you need to switch back to default when an error occurs with the custom AI.

After successfully installing AzzyAI, simply open AzzyAIConfig.exe to open the Configuration Utility Window, and edit the necessary commands under the Homunculus-related tabs. Here are some notable commands which you may edit in order for your Homunculus to follow specific behaviors:

A. Autobuff Options

  • UseCastleDefend: Enables the Homunculus (Amistr-base) to use Castling if the owner is being mobbed based on CastleDefendThreshold
  • UseAutoHeal: Enables the Homunculus (Vanilmirth or Lif-base) to use healing skills set at HealSelfHP and HealOwnerHP
  • UseDefensiveBuff: Commands the Homunculus to cast the Defensive Buffs: Amistr Bulwark, Accelerated Flight and Urgent Escape
  • LavaSlideMode/PoisonMistMode: Dictates how Dieter and Sera will use Lava Slide and Poison Mist (set to Idle to cast under the Geneticist; good defensive strategy while AFK leveling the Homunculus)
  • UseDieterPyroclastic: Dieter automatically uses Pyroclastic depending on the behavior assigned (keep in mind about the buff’s chance to break one’s weapon unless it is a Mace or Axe)
  • UseBayeriSteinWand: Bayeri uses Stein Wand depending on the behavior assigned (as well as the number of mobs under UseSteinWandOwnerMob and UseSteinWandSelfMob)

B. AutoSkill Options

  • AutoComboMode: Allows Eleanor to use Combo Skills on monsters (provided they’re set up in the Homunculus Tactics tab under the monster’s “Skill Class” drop down menu)
  • AutoComboSpheres: Combo skills enabled in AutoComboMode may be used if Eleanor has at least this many spheres.
  • AutoMobCount: Homunculi will use AoE skills when monsters in close proximity of it or the owner is greater than or equal to this value
  • AutoSkillDelay: Time (in milliseconds) between uses of a skill (set to 400 by default)
  • UseSkillOnly: Dictates whether your Homunculus will use skills while chasing at long range, while attacking at melee range, or only use skills and not attack.
  • Use (HomunSName)(SkillName): True/False for a Homunculus S to use a specific offensive skill (ex: UseEiraSilentBreeze, with the level of the skill set at EiraSilentBreezeLevel)

C. Basic Options

  • AggroHP/SP: Homunculus will seek out and attack monsters whenever its HP or SP are greater than the (percentage) value assigned. When HP or SP are under, it will only fight when the monster attacks it first. Set to 100 if you don’t want the Homunculus to attack unless its owner, a friend or itself is attacked.
  • DoNotChase: Acts as sniping mode, instructing the Homunculus to only use ranged skills/attacks and not move.
  • LiveMobID: Helps to identify monsters’ Mob ID (shown in MobID file and can be logged in Mob_ID file; used to customize behavior towards specific monsters in Homunculus Tactics tab); default set to False as it will lag the client.
  • Mobile/StationaryAggroDist: Determines the distance between monsters and the master when the latter is either moving or stationary.
  • OldHomunType: Owners with Homunculus S that are not of Vanilmirth-base need to set whether their previous base was either Amistr, Filir or Lif
  • RescueOwnerLowHP: Homunculus will drop all targets it is currently attacking and will defend its owner from enemies when owner’s HP is less than the (percentage) value assigned.
  • SuperPassive: True/False if you want your Homunculus to not automatically attack or move.
  • UseAttackSkill: Dictates if your Homunculus will use offensive skills while attacking.
  • UseDanceAttack: Instructs the Homunculus the bypass ASPD delay by moving around after each normal attack; recommended for Homunculi with no offensive skills or have low ASPD.

D. Walk/Follow Options

  • DoNotUseRest: True/False if you want your Homunculus to either move and attack or become passive and move close to you when you sit down.
  • FollowStayBack: Your Homunculus will stay this many cells behind you when following you.
  • Mobile/StationaryMoveBounds: Farthest distance from the owner the Homunculus will be allowed to get before dropping all targets and moving back to the owner while moving or stationary. MovileMoveBounds preferred lower than StationaryMoveBounds to prevent the Homunculus from being left behind.
  • MoveSticky: True/False if you want your Homunculus to hold and stay at a specified location when told to go to it (assigned at MoveStickyFight if you wish the Homunculus to attack normally while at that specified position)
  • UseIdleWalk: Dictates the Homunculus to move around the master following a pattern or randomly when it is idle; can also set IdleWalkDistance and IdleWalkSP for more Idle Walk conditions for the Homunculus to follow.

To load your Homunculus’ custom AI, simply type /hoai on your message window. If the message says “The Homunculus has been customized,” simple character select and log back into your character or cast Vaporize + Call Homunculus for it to follow your commands. You can edit your Custom AI while your Homunculus is out, but will need to relog or Vaporize + Call every time you want your Homunculus to follow the updated commands.
