Overview
The Royal Guard is the third job class for the Paladin in Ragnarok Online, known for its powerful offensive and defensive skills. This class specializes in protecting allies, dealing heavy damage, and using mounts for increased mobility.
In this Royal Guard Job Change Quest guide, you will learn how to become a Royal Guard by meeting the necessary requirements and completing a series of quest steps. Follow this step-by-step guide to successfully advance to the Royal Guard job class and unlock its powerful abilities.
Requirements

Before starting the quest, make sure you have used all your skill points, dismounted from your Peco Peco, and have 100 
Burning Hearts.
Job Change Quest
1. Go inside Prontera Castle, located at the 12 o’clock position of Prontera. Find Middle-aged Gentleman and talk to him.
2. Talk to him again until he asks, “What is the key to being a Royal Guard?” Simply choose any answer, all options will let you proceed.
3. He will ask you to show your dedication. Simply talk to him again and give him the 100 Burning Hearts.
4. After he takes the Burning Hearts, talk to him again. He will then instruct you to go to Glast Heim Monastery.
5. Enter Glast Heim Abbey and walk straight ahead to the middle.
A pop-up dialogue will appear saying:
“I can feel a strong power around here. It would be better to explore around here.”
6. This will trigger red marks on your mini-map. Go to each red mark and interact with the Delicate Trace until you retrieve “A Piece of Cloth of a Saint.”
7. Return to the Middle-aged Gentleman inside Prontera Castle and give him the Piece of Cloth of a Saint.
He will then reward you with a Shield of King.
8. After obtaining the Shield of King in your inventory, go to Glast Heim.
At 12 o’ clock, you will find Memory of King Schmidtz.
Click and talk to it, then wait until the job change to Royal Guard is complete.
